  • Seeking 2019 Festival Sponsoring Parnters

    Did you know that Cheat Fest is the primary annual fundraiser that supports the work of the environmental non-profit group Friends of the Cheat (FOC)? FOC has worked to restore, protect and promote the health of the Cheat River Watershed for over two decades. From monitoring water quality and remediating the polluted run-off from abandoned coal mines to supporting river access and offering environmental education, their work has broadly and deeply impacted the surrounding community and habitat.

    Cheat Fest serves to both celebrate this work, and to provide financial support and stability to an organization loved by its community. Sponsoring partners help assure a successful festival experience for FOC and for the community of river lovers who come out every year.   • Cheat Fest – Fly Casting Demo with Jack Bell

    Cheat Festival is more than just great music. This Cheat Fest, join WV local Jack Bell down by the river for a fly casting demo that is sure to impress! Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm, Jack Bell will share his expertise and showcase his talents on our own Cheat River. Jack has been fly fishing for 50 years, has worked worked as a part time guide for the past 25, and has helped teach fly casting and fly fishing to hundreds of people over the past 40 years. And he knows his stuff – Jack was the West Virginia state fly casting champion for both distance and accuracy in 1975, 1976, and 1979.

  • Get your Cheat Fest Tickets Now!

    Counting the days until May 2nd?? Well, how about you go ahead and get your tickets now!! Pre-sale tickets cost $15 and will be available through April 26th.  More importantly, when you get your tickets early the FOC staff sleeps better at night.

  • Volunteer For Cheat Fest

    Want to get into Cheat Fest for free? Camp on the festival grounds? Enjoy deliciously free food and beverages? Support Friends of the Cheat and help make this year’s festival the best yet? Are you reliable? Great! It sounds like you might make a good volunteer!

    Volunteer shifts are 4 hours long, and cover all sorts of different jobs – from keeping the fest site clean (aka picking up garbage) to selling tickets at the front gate to helping time the down river race. If you’re interested, contact the volunteer coordinator Kelli Geswein at kelligeswein@hotmail.com.

    We also have opportunities for volunteers who want to complete their job before the festival.

  • Cheat Fest 2015 Artwork

    For the past several years, friend of Friends of the Cheat John Victor has dreamed up incredible artwork that embodies the spirit of Cheat Fest. Well, he’s done it again and we love what he’s come up with. Check it out!

    Love it too? Pre-order your festival t-shirt  starting March 1st.  This year’s artwork will be printed on 100% recycled, USA made shirts from SustainU.  Shirts will be available for pick-up during the festival, and for delivery directly afterwards.
