    Excitement is in the air as we begin a new year here at Friends of the Cheat. New projects and discoveries are on the horizon as we work with community partners to restore the Cheat River watershed. This also means CHEAT FEST TIME!!!!!!! There are so many areas of Cheat Fest to get involved with and they all support FOC.
    Are interested in being a Vendor or Art Market artist to sell your foods/wares?
    Do you want to show off your musical prowess on the Cheat Fest stage?

    Do you want to help out for Cheat Fest but don’t have time during the actual Fest?

    We have the PERFECT job for you!

    We need volunteers to hang posters in various areas around WV, PA, and MD.
    If you hang 40 posters, you will get Cheat Fest volunteer perks including free entry and on site camping.

    Did you know that you can get into Cheat Fest for FREE?!

     

    A four hour volunteer shift during Cheat Fest will get you free entrance, free on site camping, and free food all weekend long.

    What a way to support your favorite watershed group while having a great time!

  • Cheat Fest Food Drive benefiting Food for Preston.

     

    Please join us in supporting our local food pantries by donating a non-perishable item to our Cheat Fest Food Drive!

    You can drop your items off at the Info Booth during Cheat Fest.

     

  • Cheat Fest Downriver Race and 5K registrations are open!

    Did you know that Cheat Fest weekend is also host to TWO different races?

    Cheat River Massacre-ence

    The Cheat River Festival weekend kicks off with the largest, mass start downriver race in the country known as the Cheat River “Massacre-ence”. This downriver race features class IV whitewater on the wild and wonderful Cheat Canyon and takes place on Friday, May 5th 2023.

    Cheat Fest 5K

    Saturday morning of Cheat Fest starts with a 5K run along the gently rolling greenspaces of the Preston Country Club golf course, the rhododendron lined banks of Buffalo Creek, and along the mighty Cheat River.

  • Fest Site and Campground rules

    In order to protect our property, the following limitations are in place during Cheat Fest:
     
    -No dogs! Dogs are not allowed in Festival grounds or the FOC Campground.
    -No Fireworks.
    -NO GLASS!
     
    -The Friends of the Cheat Campground is adjacent to the Back Gate (Formerly Teter’s Campground)
    First come, first served.
    $10/person/night for the week of May 1-7, 2023.
    Tent and car camping is available.
    Pull behind rigs under 12ft are allowed.
    Sprinter vans, slide in truck campers, and similar are allowed.
     
    On Site Volunteer camping rules :
    Primitive tent/car camping only. Sprinter vans, slide in truck campers, and similar are allowed.
    Vendors, sponsors, and donors will receive camping guidance via email.
